A little personal history
For a long tiume I owned the web-address 'www.bodhran.cc', but they raised the domain registration three-fold., that is why I decided to 'stay' in the Netherlands. (.NL)
Brendan white already owned the name www.bodhran.nl, so I changed to 'www.thebodhran.nl'.

As you might know I was just filling a single page with info but I was not happy with that so I took a little time off to set up the new site.  I am happy with the way this flat file CMS system allows me to quickly edit or add content. The new site has been conceived during long winter's nights.

The Drum
I have been part of the 'folkscene' sinds the mid 70's, singing and hitting the guitar. I play the bodhran since 1985 and have also been teaching the instrument for a number of years.
My humble teaching beginnings were at O'Carolan's Pub in Bergenb op Zoom with group lessons. After a quiet phase I started teaching from my home in Goes, Zeeland (NL): group- and individuale lessons.

The Company
Besides the bodhran teaching I also have a small media company, together with my wife. It is called Mediator Media, I handle pre-press design, internet-services (website design/development), graphic support, photography en multimedia. My wife take care of the language activities, like translations, proof reading and copy writing.

The Band
 Sometimes I play in a band: 'Finglas' (vocals, bodhran, keyboard), together with my brother Jules (whistles and flutes) and bouzoukiplayer Frenk van Hooff. 
With larger gigs we usually depend on Kees Schoone (accordion) and other talented musicians.

There are a couple of audioproductions:

• tape waterEmotion (1996) - audiotape only.
• cd Druid Dance (2002) - a cd-project by Jules, with the  Finglas gang and musician friends.
• a DVD of a benefit concert for the Tsunami victims where we played under the name Agean with two members of Comas.  The DVD features three more Celtic bands: Triskell, No Frontiers and The Old Firm
